Meet the Outcrowd...
With over 10 years experience as a fashion designer, I have very much paved my own path in the industry. When I first moved to London I was interning for free and sofa surfing, working retail in the evening to pay the bills. The people who I met along the way encouraged, supported and
Originally from Bristol, I made my way through my studies and graduated with a degree in fashion Design from Nottingham Trent University in 2010. During this time I took part in an exchange programme studying at Fashion Institute of Technology, New York and interned in companies from an independant costumier, to the high street giants. From Design admin assistant to menswear design manager, I pride my success on self development, team development and a positive mindset. I have worked closely with universities over the years setting live projects and mentoring students from second and third year through to finding their first jobs. I have been a guest lecture delivering talks on careers in fashion as well as building your best portfolio. Recently, I have worked closely with many charities such as FAD to support the next generation of designers.

MENTOR - PAUL AUSTIN, SENIOR MENSWEAR DESIGNER
Rachel and I have only had a couple of video calls as we took it to Whatsapp instead as she has had some interviews to prep for next week which I'm keeping everything crossed for! She is an excellent graduate and so hard working (she was working a full time job and a part time job for the whole duration, as well as doing her portfolio and interview prep) so if you need anyone in the future I can highly recommend her.
Her personality is also fantastic especially given the current climate. She is super positive, timely, polite, and generally a good egg!
I'll be sure to keep in contact with her anyway throughout her interview process and after so thanks again for introducing it has been a pleasure.
Keep in touch and I look forward to keeping up with your next ventures and will gladly help with anything you need!
pushed me to take leaps towards what I wanted, with a go out and get it attitude. This mentality has stayed with me ever since.
I live my life by paying it forward, supporting designers, like I was supported. This is what the Outcrowd is all about - a collective of like minded creatives supporting and growing each other. In an industry where it's all about who you know, The Outcrowd Collective wants to get to know you.
I would love to hear from you if you are a student, University, Social Project, retailer, brand or fellow professional... we are here to connect!
